The Sons and Daughters of Italy “Heart of the Lion” Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has tirelessly given of themselves and has made significant contributions to the community. The “Heart of the Lion” Lifetime Achievement Award is a special honour bestowed by the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge.
It is not an annual award; it will be given in years where we need to recognize the contributions made to the greater Winnipeg community by an individual of Italian descent.
2024 – Joe Leuzzi
At our 36th Annual Gala, Sons & Daughters of Italy will be proudly presented Joe Leuzzi with the Heart of the Lion Lifetime Achievement Award.
2020 – Gerardo “Gerry” Lomonaco
On March 14, 2020, Gerardo “Gerry” Lomonaco, owner of the original Sorrento’s Pizza, received the Sons and Daughters of Italy Heart of the Lion Lifetime Achievement Award!
2019 – Father Sam Argenziano
On March 16, 2019, at our 33rd Annual Gala, Father Sam Argenziano received the inaugural Sons of Italy Heart of the Lion Lifetime Achievement Award.
