The Garibaldi Lodge, the first Manitoba chapter of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy of Canada, is known for its annual sold-out Gala dinner, which serves as its major fundraiser supporting charitable donations throughout the year. The lodge contributes widely to the community, assisting Italian cultural groups, offering scholarships to students of Italian heritage, and sponsoring awards recognizing successful Canadians of Italian descent. Its members also engage in numerous charitable activities, including hosting a Christmas Eve Feast for those in need, serving meals at the Rossbrook House graduation, and participating in the Challenge for Life walk, which has raised about $100,000. Membership is open to individuals of Italian descent or those married to someone of Italian descent, regardless of faith.
