Regali per la Comunità – Community Gifts Program
Background
The Sons and Daughters of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge Community Gifts Program (Regali per la Comunità) establishes a new funding initiative as a means of increasing and showcasing the support the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge provides to the community over and above the SDOI Gala support given each year.
Each year, numerous organizations that are not interested in applying for the Charity of Choice at the annual Gala are now able to apply for funding to support the meaningful work they do for an amount up to $10,000, that will make a dramatic impact to the people and causes they serve.
Opportunity
Over the past 15 years, our Lodge has donated more than $5,000,000 to charitable causes reflecting the strength and generosity of our small but mighty group.
Each year, the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge will commit to providing a gift of $10,000 (or up to $10,000) to each of 3 organizations based on the applications for funds received within the timeline stated and by meeting the requirements.
Note: The Sons and Daughters of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge reserves the right to provide fewer than 3 Gifts if insufficient applications are received or that meet the requirements.
Details of the Community Gifts Program
Gift Requirements
- The Gift must be a Matching Gift
- In order to receive the “up to $10,000” gift, organizations must, through their own fundraising efforts, raise “up to $10,000” on their own first
- The organization must also meet the other non-monetary requirements of the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge
- The Sons and Daughters of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge will then match the “up to $10,000” from its yearly funds
Program Structure
- The Sons and Daughters of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge will conduct a formal check presentation and announcement during the program of the Annual Gala each year
- The Sons and Daughters of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge will choose up to 3 organizations each year
Expectations of Organizations
Organizations applying for the Community Gifts Program must meet the following requirements:
- Application Submission: Organizations must submit the Community Gift Request Form within the timeline presented
- Fundraising Plan: Organizations must detail how they plan on raising the “up to $10,000” that will then be matched by the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge gift
- Marketing and Recognition: Organizations must detail how they will provide positive social media, newsletter, and marketing coverage of this matching gift from the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge to allow for brand awareness
- Video Presentation: Winning organizations will provide a video of how their organization has used the gift to be shown at the Annual Gala
- Event Participation: Winning organizations will provide an opportunity for the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge to announce this gift at an event that the winning organization holds and allow one of our representatives to speak
- Gala Attendance: Winning organizations will attend the Annual Gala, at their expense, to receive the acknowledgment of the gift
Timeline for 2026
Submission of Applications Accepted: March 15, 2026 – May 15, 2026
Committee Reviews Request Form: March 16, 2026 – June 5, 2026
Organizations Available for Presentation or Questions: April 1, 2026 – June 1, 2026
Winners Announced: At our June the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge Membership Meeting, no later than June 19, 2026
Public Presentation: Winners publicly presented at the following year’s Gala (March 2027), showcasing how the funds were used
